A bit of excitement here at Willeroo this morning. A bit of excitement here at Willeroo this morning.
This gorgeous old building used to house all the m This gorgeous old building used to house all the milking cows and would supply gallons of milk to all of the people who used to work at Willeroo Station.

Of course, all of the staff have long gone and our milk comes from Woolies, but we wanted to give this old girl a fresh look.

After patching a significant amount of cracks, things were looking pretty unsightly. So we decided to freshen up the original limewash.

We just mixed a 50:50 lime and water mix and applied with a large brush. Gloves and mask a must. Wetting down the walls prior in patches also helped with the application.

Thank you to Meg @thetempesthouse for the inspo.
The Pool House bathroom. It’s taken a while to The Pool House bathroom.

It’s taken a while to finish things in here with the plumbing but this bathroom has finally finished.

We bought this antique a few years back from @gravitasvintage . Sometimes when you see an antique you love (and can afford) it speaks to you. And this spoke to me! We earmarked it for this building, and had to make sure it came in before the bathroom wall went in otherwise it would not have fit. We added the sink and beautiful tapwear and I think it adds so much character to this old building. The electric Roman blinds are also super practical and so pretty.

Turning this derelict building into a usable, beautiful space might just be my favourite renovation yet.
Good morning Willeroo. Good morning Willeroo.

The end of an era for this huge pine. For around The end of an era for this huge pine.

For around 120 years this tree has stood at Willeroo and ever since we have been here it has dominated the skyline. Unfortunately it has been dead for years and has started dropping some large branches and had to be removed- thankfully by professionals who did it with ease and even managed to avoid a smaller, nearby oak. It was sad to say goodbye and the new views are going to take some getting used to.
This is our first spring with this area of the gar This is our first spring with this area of the garden completed. It is so rewarding seeing it come to life, with the grass looking great, the hedges beginning to fill in and the bulbs poking up their heads.

We have had a particularly brutal winter here, with some -10 degrees temperatures. Some of the perennials in the courtyard haven’t made it, so I will be filling in a few spaces. I’m thinking of transplanting some sedum from another area which seem to be super hardy. Any other suggestions?
